Overview
VISION will develop an innovative infrastructure aiming at potentiating future wireless sensor networks with the capability of supporting intelligent services for ubiquitous sensing, with emphasis on real-time 3D video sensing.
Typical applications of sensor networks are environment sampling, disaster areas monitoring, health monitoring, surveillance, security, inventory management, etc. However, guaranteeing a certain quality of service (QoS) to a WSN application is difficult because of the unpredictable nature of the wireless link and the often unstable topology of the sensor network.
VISION will address such a limitation of current technology to design and prototype revolutionary HW/SW infrastructure able to provide intelligent sensing services, with emphasis on real-time 3D video, by properly combining the exploitation of resource/context-awareness of all system components with the use of a novel wireless technology, the 60 GHz ultra-wide band (UWB) radios.
Agilla2
(22/11/2014) As one of the main achievement of the VISION project, an existing mobile-agents based MW for WSN called Agilla has been ported to TinyOS2.x and made available here: Agilla2
